Well, some might consider this a long time overdue. I, however, think one should never be too eager to start a blog.  For one thing I think it is pretty important to have something to write about before you begin.  For two people living in Rexburg Idaho it might take 9 months before you have something to write about.

Recapping the last 9 Months:

Kelsie and I were sealed on September 3, 2011 in the Seattle, WA Temple. It was so great to be surrounded by our families for such an important and beautiful event in our lives.  I have to admit that everything went about as smoothly as we could have hoped.  We did have one minor hick-up.  We took care of all of Kelsie's temple recommend interviews before we left Rexburg.  But somehow no one mentioned to me that I needed to have an interview with my Bishop and Stake President before we could be sealed.  So we spent part of Thursday making a few frantic last minute calls to Bishop Harris, but of course everything was taken care of and we were given the go-ahead for Saturday.  We were fortunate enough to have Grandpa Alexander perform the Sealing on Saturday.  That was the start to all of the future adventures we are sure to have.

Well a week later we made our way back to Rexburg to start another semester of school.  At our reception in Bakersfield we found out school started a day earlier than we had planned which left us only Sunday to make the trip from Bakersfield to Rexburg.  The next few months passed rather quickly and without anything too eventful happening.  Kelsie and I were very busy with school and work.  We both took a full load of classes so our life consisted of homework and class.  I did, however, take a Media Research class which turned out to be my favorite class of my college career.  As a result of taking that class and becoming friends with the Professor, Kelsie and I had an opportunity to take our biggest adventure yet.

In January Kelsie and I moved to Silver Spring MD (A suburb of Washington DC) where I started an internship for Discovery Communications in the Corporate Research Department.  Yes, Discovery Communications is the company that owns the Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Oprah Winfrey Network, etc. This happens to be where we came up with the name for our blog.  We rented a little studio apartment about a block from the Discovery Building.  Since we flew to DC we couldn't really take much with us so we lived on an air mattress for three months and only used plastic utensils.  Literally it was an empty apartment.
In the top picture you can see our apt complex on the left (the building with the green sign) and the Discovery Building on the right (the one with the satellites on it).

We had a ton of fun.  It was nice to live in a place where there was always something to do on the weekend.  Fortunately for us it was a very mild winter so the weather was usually great.  Sure, I learned quite a bit about ratings analysis, cross-platform measurement and time shifted viewing. But even more than that we got to spend three months surrounded by and visiting some of our nations many historically significant monuments and memorials.  If we had the chance we would definitely go back for a while.

We were very fortunate to have several visits from family members.  Kelsie's dad came to visit a few times during business trips.  We also got a visit from Alton and Breanna when we first arrived.  About three weeks before we left the craziest thing happened.  Kelsie and I showed up to church ready to teach our nursery lesson when I spotted Uncle Roby and Aunt Tamy.  I think they were just as surprised to see us as we were to see them.  It turns out they had just moved into the ward we had been attending for the past several months. The last week we were in DC we spent with the Ray's.  We got to spend almost a whole week acting like tourists through several of the eastern states.  Seeing as how the Hunts had been living back east for a few years they acted as our tour guides which proved to be very beneficial.

P.S. no comments on the hair.  I went all three months without getting it cut.  Don't worry, it was the first thing we did when we got back.

And now we are back in Rexburg.  Kelsie and I dove right back into school and have been busy ever since we got home.  It has been nice to be back in our apartment with our stuff, but we absolutely loved our time in DC.  Kelsie is as busy as I have ever seen anyone be with school.  I feel pretty lucky when I get to see her for a couple of hours on any given day.  About a week ago Kelsie's sister Jenica had her first baby girl. Kelsie's mom has been here for two weeks to help with the baby duties. Charlotte is the sweetest little thing and it has been fun to hang out with so much family.  It makes us even more excited to see our other new niece and nephew this summer.  I am halfway through my second to last semester.  Yep, just one left.  We are anxious to see what adventure we face next.
